For generations, the Windsor Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 455, has stood as a symbol of service, integrity, and brotherhood. Our members answer the call in times of need, putting the safety of others before themselves.

Our History

Rooted in a proud history of service dating back over a century, our Association has long been committed not only to protecting lives and property, but also to supporting one another and the community we serve. That legacy includes the establishment of our Firefighters’ Benefit Fund in 1921, reflecting our enduring commitment to care, compassion, and solidarity.

More Than Firefighters

We are more than firefighters—we are advocates, mentors, and active members of the community. Through our work on and off the job, we remain dedicated to protecting Windsor while supporting those who serve it.

Community Involvement

We take great pride in giving back to the community we are honoured to serve. Our members support a number of important initiatives throughout the year, including:

• Sparky’s Toy Drive
• Chilifest
• Firefighters’ Benefit Fund
• Numerous charitable causes and community initiatives throughout Windsor
